The 2022 Puerto Plata Carnival is back, on March 12th at the Malecon and La Puntilla.  “The extensive boardwalk and the spectacular amphitheater of this Atlantic city will serve as the setting for the Great National Carnival Parade to be held next Saturday, March 12.”

This was announced by the president of the Puerto Plata Carnival Union (UCAPPLATA), Dr. Juan Oscar Souffront (Yanco), explaining that this folkloric and cultural festival returns after two years of pause due to the COVID pandemic.

Souffront said that the “Great National Parade of Carnival Puerto Plata 2022” will have the consent of the Public Health authorities whose inspectors will establish biosafety protocols to avoid massive spread of Coronavirus.

Likewise, it will have the local participation of numerous performing groups, such as the Diablos Cojuelos, Taimáscaros tribes and individuals, as well as the best carnival delegations from all over the country.

Due to Covid halting the Carnival from happening for two years, meaning that some bio safety measures will be taken this year. The photo shoot of the event is sponsored by Golden Treasures Real Estate.
