Camacho Beach Puerto Plata is one of the great beaches we find right on the heart of San Felipe`s Malecon (oceandrive), literally steps from the street. This stretch of golden sand sits right next to Acapulco Beach, another malecon beach of this Atlantic city. Camacho is rarely crowded, and during weekdays it is mostly deserted; a few locals come on the weekends to enjoy its shallow waters and tropical breeze – because there are more popular beaches in Puerto Plata competing for the crowds.

The Malecon Beach Of Puerto Plata

Playa Camacho (as locals know it) has an extension of 260 meters, and it is the best pristine beach of the malecon; considering that there are no businesses or vendors in the beach and the scimitar shape has far more square footage than its sister beach, Acapulco. The waters are fairly shallow on the shores at low tide, please beware this is a beach with no lifeguards so be careful before venturing into deeper waters.

Camacho Beach Puerto Plata is a perfect escape away from crowds visiting popular beaches (such as Playa Dorada, Long Beach, or Sosua) just be aware that there are no shops here, lifeguards, or permanent, stationed guards; It seems like a great place for backpackers who prefer to experience a place with a smaller human footprint.
